Hi Carc,

I have a serious problem with the procedure Insert OLE Object, until a couple of days ago, everything worked perfectly well, however inexplicable to me, I can not open OLE objects exist and I can not add/insert new ones. I have made every test possible and nothing.

For a long time ago that working with OLE Objects (almost all are spreadsheets.ods) and never had this kind of problem.
The problem is repeated in the same way in many applications, starting with AmlPages,
The procedure with OLE objects, begins properly with the corresponding dialogues, but then fails.
The curious thing is that the OLE object works well when it comes to a PDF or jpg file, different from OpenOffice or Office files. (?)
The errors are: a) Can not create OLE Object, b) Server Error, file not found, c) Server busy

I think it is a problem in my Windows Vista, probably the component that handles OLE Objects is damaged, corrupted or missing.
You must know how to interact Insert Object command to the component of Microsoft Windows, which files to addressing specific points and give me some idea about
How I can check in Windows?, How I can get to these files?, How I can replace or repair them if need be?

This is the problem of OpenOffice as OLE-server.

PS: I add new command for viewing of OLE-objects properties in next version 9.16 (for help).

What document are you referring to?, Please specify,

1) Apd file Document?
2) OpenOffice file?
3) other?

a) if it concerns a document file (. apd), it has certain confidential information that does not like to share, you understand.
b) if it is a openoffice3.ods file (spreadsheet) is given the same situation, although it could prepare themselves for a particular test.

*In general, as I said before, insert and embed files as OLE objects in AmlPages are all made in openoffice3

Yes, of course. You can delete all nodes from document, exclude nodes with OLE-objects.

Now you only need "Windows Vista" to reproduce the problem completely.

Perhaps the problem is in Windows (corrupted files, lost, etc) or ...
Perhaps the problem is in OpenOffice3 (Ole-server, as you said).

If you have all the elements that contribute to the problem, why not do a test and creates an OLE object from a file openoffice3?
The important question is, if the procedure (Insert OLE Object) works well and is completed successfully. (insert and open Ole Object)

If all goes well, then it is likely that files related to the OLE procedure, in my Windows, damaged or lost and should be reviewed, repair, or re-install to recover.
In my humble opinion, I think the problem is not found in OpenOffice, I reported the problem on OOo forums and no one has verified or reported the same situation.
Furthermore, I have re-installed 2 times OpenOffice 3.2.0, and the problem remains the same!

Given the above, I see no need to send you my "apd document" to prove the OLE Object. The existing OLE Objects could not be opened because the originals files are on my HDD.

I think You need reinstall OpenOffice (if You have problems with OLE-objects also in other applications).

You can see properties of selected object from Aml Pages menu (select object in text editor and choose menu command "Insert\Object Properties").

I have been investigating the problem and I posted the problem to Support / ISSUE Tracker (bug reporting and lookup) from Openoffice.org. I found a reporter similar to mine. It seems that the problem occurs only in the Spanish version.
Support sent me reply and tell me that the problem is fixed in version 3.2.1 (not yet available).

Also in case, I did a check on the integrity of the files in Windows Vista. For those using the console command sfc / scannow (System File Checker tool), with Administrator privileges, the result did not show any problems (no missing or corrupted system files).

If the OLE-servers have problems in several applications, it is a problem at 99% probability of the OLE-server, not the programs they use.

Make the following action:
I uninstalled OOo 3.2.0 version in Spanish, and installed the English version (USA)
Now, everything works Okay
The problem occurs only and exclusively in the Spanish version.

I'm sorry. But even the developers of OpenOffice error. I hope they will fix them in the next version and you can again use the Spanish interface.

Yes, we should expect to release the new version in my language.
In any case, the delay does not worry me because I use the English language and also only use OpenOffice spreadsheet preference and nothing more.
